Lightnings Gunblade

So! This is just a pic I took and put on facebook with my phone, but I'll have a HUGE gallery later.

Demi agreed to go to Cos&Effect with me, and to be Lightning, so we're working our damnedest to get her ready.
Her cosplay is done, minus the boots and wig (and I wanna re-do the pauldron...) but she needs a prop.
This here, this sonofabitch, is the Blazefire Saber Gunblade.
It's mostly functional, and for time constraints it's not 100% accurate.
(I'll point out flaws in pics to come, but you can see that the part covering the blade in Gun mode is free-floating, and therefore placed wrong for this quick snap.)

It DOES, however, change from Gun to Sword, which will ALSO be detailed when it's completed.
This work in progress has been in the works for nearly a month now, and is nearing completion.

You can see the plastic models from the Lightning figure which I had sketched, scaled and measured in my sketchbook.
Everything needed to be 7.63 the size that it was on the "prop" for the figure to match Demi's size (The Sword-mode reaches Lightning's hip, from tip to pommel) and with a few small creative liberties, I figured out how I could do it in a way that seems awesome.

This will not be for sale, so don't ask, and I dunno if I'll do a commission for another one. Possibly. If you like the Edged Carbide, maybe.
But yeah. We'll see how this ultimately turns out, and it it does well, I may even just sell the plans for it, so you can make your own.
